Acho que ainda é melhor do que a televisão e jornais tradicionais. Em tese a gente escolhe o canal da televisão, mas quando todos pertencem a elites tradicionais e defendem pontos de vista sistêmicos similares, vemos o que querem que a gente veja

A internet é tecnologicamente muito mais livre que TV e jornal.
O problema não é a internet em si, mas como ela vem sendo conduzida.
A gente ganhou autonomia técnica, mas perdeu autonomia prática.

Então, @veroandi_br , o lance é o que estamos chamando de "Internet". Se estamos falando do ecossistema como um todo, incluindo aí sites e tudo o mais, eu até concordo em parte. Mas hoje as mídias sociais hegemônicas são ainda mais direcionadores do que os canais de de TV e os jornais.
E mesmo fora das mídias sociais, ainda temos a Google direcionando nossas buscas ou mesmo eliminando-as completamente, com a sua nova lógica de mostrar resultados gerados por IA.
Ou seja, pra se ter uma Internet realmente saudável, dá trabalho. E a maioria das pessoas não quer ter trabalho (ou sequer sabe que existe um mundo além dos algoritmos direcionadores).

Quando a porta de entrada para a internet é um aplicativo da Meta ou o Google e a pessoa não consegue sair disso, realmente fica em uma prisão e exposta ao que as plataformas decidirem que ela veja.

Today while training some sysadmins I shared this real photo of ancient Greek engineers configuring a mailserver.
On the left the brave engineer is trying to stop unauthorised pipelining through the MTA as their knee is viciously attacked by a subtly broken DKIM key. Meanwhile, their co-sysadmin is hammering away at a perfectly good Postfix sender restrictions policy, screaming "It's not DNS!", while bitten by a PTR record quietly hissing "It'ssss DNSssss".

Ce dessin est extrêmement précis, expressif, et délicat, déjà dans le crayonné, sans parler de la mise en couleurs super travaillée.
Les heures de travail ne mentent pas.
