@DaisyLee @petejones this may be a loaded question, but when will we see KDE on mobile? I dream of the day when, whatever device I pick, even if it is someone else's or a loaner from the hotel, I sign in and all my stuff is there, familiar and ready to use.
Web-based is almost there, but I'd rather it worked like KDE 😼
@DaisyLee @petejones I see on the list of supported devices that my old Samsung Tab A T350 is a likely candidate for #postmarketos although without any camera. It's tempting, but I would first want to know if it is indeed any faster than it was in android 7, or at least no slower 😅

Bluesky is a proprietary service operated by a single company, but with an unusually good "API" for plug-in 3rdparty tools. If you read the bluesky developer documentation, you'll find lots of verbiage asserting something different from the above. But I assert my frame is closer to accurate than theirs
For people that used the Bridgy Fed
Bluesky bridge, it got blocked 4 days ago., after BlueSky pulls the relay plug while they work on their fediverse to Bluesky systems.

discussion on the upstream linked ticket suggests that they are working on lifting the block, and some data has been propagated since the block started, which may mean they are slowly working through the backlog? Still, illustrative.
Illustrative. Apparently zero malice whatsoever in the bridgyfed suspension. But malice isn't what's important here. The single company that operates bluesky couldn't handle the demand bridgyfed placed on their central service, so bridgyfed had to get turned off for a bit (and not by bridgyfed's choice). Reasonable for a centralized service making a best effort to meet customer needs. But intuitively, if you have a federated/decentralized service, this sort of thing isn't even *possible*
this isn't a defense of anyone or anything, but my understanding was that Bluesky's relay couldn't handle their own PDS load and shut off importing other PDSs while working on stabilizing their system by spinning up a larger relay and staggering traffic onto it. I don't think they were just like "oh shit turn off Bridgy Fed!"
it does not seem like all the facts are in just yet but that does not seem consistent with the folks claiming that their self-hosted PDSes are still getting imported in the github issue comments
Whether by accident or design, what it shows is that they can drop the self-hosted PDSes whenever they feel like it (think of eg Facebook and Google supporting XMPP and then dropping it)

I also remember a few years before a Java person (I think it was nodebox - is that Java?) complaining that the Python execution was slow - when he was doing a separate `eval` for _each_ Python statement (the statements inside a loop) - which would trigger a compile pass for the EVALed string.
I'd forgotten about this + it looks awesome. Really useful for fun graphics experiments if there is some zero overhead way of moving stuff stuff between interpreters (there's some mmap support that might work).

O problema é que cada vez que alguém descobre um sistema, essa descoberta é compartilhada, online, com todos os outros jogadores. E como todos os jogadores iniciam a expedição no mesmo sistema solar, é praticamente impossível descobrir um novo, quando um tanto de gente está jogando (e você chegou depois de um tempo na expedição).
Qual o truque? Desconectar a Internet no computador. Dessa forma, ao chegar em qualquer sistema novo, não tem como o jogo verificar se aquele sistema já foi descoberto (a não ser que você o tenha descoberto antes). E aí, depois de oito saltos, tarefa conclu
